Mark your calendars! On Friday, October 24, we'll be hosting our First Annual Parent Network Appreciation Day between 3 and 6 p.m. At the event, we will recognize four individuals who have assisted us since we restarted the organization in September 2001. They include:

- Vito Borrello, President, Every Person Influences Children (EPIC)

- James Casion, CEO, Baker Victory Services.

- Vickie Rubin, Director, Early Childhood Direction Center.

- Sue Locke Scott, Resource Coordinator, Special Education Training & Resource Center, Erie 1 BOCES.

Each of these leaders has provided invaluable help to us in our formative years.

At the event, we will be raffling off even more baskets than we did at last year's Open House. Proceeds will again benefit the Dena B. Goldstein Family Resource Initiative.

Please consider joining us and/or providing financial support for the Resource Initiative as we continue to maximize the offerings available in the library. Be a part of the happenings!

Membership. For parents and educators, we will now offer memberships in the Parent Network of WNY. Membership will assure your being on our mailing list to receive our newsletter, Special Insights. In addition, you will be able to vote for board members at the annual spring meeting, become a part of our email Listserv, have access to special members-only trainings, and be eligible for focus groups that will include previews of new curriculum development.

As a Parent Network of WNY member, you will be supporting a parent connecting organization, one that is committed to helping individuals with disabilities reach their own potential. Basic membership for either an individual or family requires a donation of only $5.00. Memberships forms can be obtained at our offices and will be available with our newsletter soon.
