About the WNY Medicaid Service Coordination Institute

The WNY Medicaid Service Coordination Institute provides competency-based trainings to Medicaid Service Coordinators (MSC) and MSC Supervisors in the WNY DDSO service area. These trainings are designed to enhance the skills of an MSC or MSC Supervisor through interactive sessions and hands-on workshops. These trainings provide the tools necessary for MSCs to become awesome and effective service coordinators to the individuals and families they assist.
 
A number of MSC Institute training programs are also open to parents, family members and persons with disabilities. We encourage individuals and families to be as informed and knowledgeable as possible about the services and supports available to them so they can make the most informed decisions.
 
The Institute offers the following: 
  •  MSC CORE training – OPWDD’s mandated training for new MSC’s
  • Training on topics MSC’s have told us are most important to them
  • Specialized training for MSC Supervisors
  • Continuing Education Units
